Yellow Journalism is to stretch the truth to blame someone/something. Just a few months before the Spanish American War, The Maine exploded. The press used Yellow Journalism to blame Spain.
What Caused The Maine To Explode?
The Maine exploded not by a Spanish ship, but the boiler overheated. In a routine check, every thing seemed fine, so they wrote nothing down. Later that week, The Maine blew up. The boilers were made to prouduce energy for the motor.
Why do people use yellow Journalism?
Journalists use Yellow Journalism to gain attention. Once they gain attention they will sell more newspapers. If they sell out, they know they made money. The press' job is to inform the people about things in the news. Somtimes the press just wants money.
